The Work

Jeffrey has a gift of connecting people of diverse backgrounds and expertise in efforts to promote shared interests. He best demonstrated this ability when he organized the first ever TEDxSeaford events in the summer and fall of 2016. Both events joined over 100 leaders of nonprofit, business, and government in a thoughtful exchange of ideas around personal, professional, and economic development.

Dr. Benson’s impact and efforts did not end there. Jeff spearhead the 100 Man Initiative where business professionals and community leaders welcomed Seaford School District students on their first day back from summer vacation. As a result, this initiative has become an annual event.

Dr. Benson has been working very hard in his community to help others achieve greatness. Jeff mentor's young men weekly in the Seaford Middle and High School's in what he coins "The Gentlemen's Club". He teaches on "The 5 Senses of Leadership". The five senses include (The Sense of Self, The Sense of Value, The Sense of Consequences, The Sense of Power and The Sense of Respect). The young men gather every Wednesday to receive instruction from Dr. Benson.

As a member of the Seaford School Board, Jeff has been apart of a collective effort in transitioning the Seaford School District from focus plus (Ranked last in the State of Delaware) to a thriving multiple award-winning district.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Benson has been very aggressive in serving the families in the Seaford area. Jeff has been resilient in leveraging his resources to organize food drops, collect and disperse gift cards, setup Covid19 testing sites as well as distribute PPE gear throughout the Seaford community.

When the Delaware schools shut down and the Seaford senior’s graduation was unknown, Jeff was instrumental in organizing a fundraising effort along with other community leaders. Collectively the group was able to raise $2,500 in less than 48 hours to purchase yard signs to highlight Seaford’s 2020 graduating class.

While the nation was battling with the racial injustice that was plaguing our country’s cities, Jeff co-organized a Badges and Basketball event that brought the community and local law enforcement together through the game of basketball.

Through collaboration and strategic partnerships, Jeff has expanded his insurance business interest in the states of Florida, Mississippi, Ohio and Texas.
